Shannon Giddens, PharmD, joined the faculty of the Yale Physician Assistant Online Program in August 2021. Giddens received her PharmD from Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, GA, graduating summa cum laude. She completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, followed by a PGY2 pediatric residency at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Following residency, Giddens accepted a role as a general pediatric pharmacist covering the pediatric medicine, surgery, short-stay, and neurology floors at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. She also served as the PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Program Director overseeing that program’s accreditation in 2018. She currently serves as the interim Manager, Education and Residencies and interim PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at Yale New Haven Health. In this role, Giddens precepts pharmacy students and residents in their health system administration and leadership rotation.
Giddens has served as a lecturer for pharmacotherapy lectures at UConn School of Pharmacy, Yale School of Nursing, and Yale School of Medicine for Yale’s Physician Associate Program. She is board certified in pharmacotherapy and pediatric pharmacotherapy.
